Position Summary:

 

Supervises and supports the pharmacy technician staff in the Department of Pharmacy.  Coordinates projects and programs which pharmacy technician staff our involved. Able to perform all functions of pharmacy technician staff Works within the policies and procedures set forth by the governing body of the hospital and department of Pharmacy. Provides guidance, as needed to the pharmacy technician staff.

 

Major Position Responsibilities:

 

Promotes and maintains good relationships with personnel including other departments, medical staff, patients, and public.

Coordinates and communicates with Director of Pharmacy about projects, performance improvement, and staffing to   promote quality of service.

Supervises Pharmacy Technician staff, which includes hiring, disciplining and annual evaluations.

Informs Director of Pharmacy of perpetual or unresolved programs

Resolves shift-to-shift issues

Schedules the pharmacy technician staff.

 

Safety and Infection Control Responsibilities:

 

Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including unit based specific safety and infection control requirements.

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum of 4 years hospital pharmacy experience with 2 years of supervisory capacity-required

Computer applications competency including Word and Excel-preferred

 

 

Education:

Two years college or equivalent training.

 

Licenses:

California Pharmacy Technician

 

Certifications:

 

Registered Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy

 

 

Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work. 

 

*Salary/Hourly wage range for this position is posted.  Actual pay will be determined based on verified experience as well as internal equity.
