Position Summary:

Provides assistance to the daily operations of the supply chain function.  Responsibilities include overseeing supply stock, inventory levels, Pyxis Administration and the receiving function.  Meets established standards. 

 

Major Position Responsibilities:

The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner.   • Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
  • Pyxis Inventory System and Tissue Implant Module administration and trainer.
  • Coordinate and manage onsite supply inventory/receipt/delivery. Communicate with floor staff on potential shortages and outages of product. Supply alternative suggestions when possible.
    • Provide assistance in the absence of OR Materials Specialist.
  • Manage backup stock and disaster supplies.
  • Review department supply requests and charge appropriate cost centers.
    • Review all orders being electronically transmitted via Pyxis system and MMIS, resolving any stock outages and substitutions
  • Maintains and oversees flow of   supplies.
  • Daily review of Distributor backorder and exception reports, taking appropriate action to avoid product shortages.
  • Responsible for processing (within 3 business days) product safety recalls and keeping staff informed of potential product shortages.
  • Identifies ways to reduce supply expenses and eliminate waste through standardization and cost containment efforts.
  • Involvement in implementation of new equipment/products.
  • Actively participates and supervises supply inventories.
  • Utilizes available system reports for analyzing, inventorying, and ordering all supplies.
  • Monitors, eliminates, removes and properly stores outdated items and disposes of them in an appropriate manner.
  • Meets with sales representatives of companies regarding inventory supplies.
  • Responsible for the control of inventory and maintaining adequate levels of supplies without overstocking.
  • Ensures privacy, security and confidentiality of contract pricing information as well as patient health information.
  • Participation in task forces or committees as requested for position.
  • Receives, checks in and puts away stock in main distribution center as necessary.
  • Replenishes stock in all departments as necessary.
  • Performs related duties as requested. 

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ Supply Chain management experience, required.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferred.

Certification:

  • Certified Resource and Materials Professional (CRMP), preferred.

 

Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.

 

*Salary/Hourly Wage range based on experience.
