Position Summary:

 

The Respiratory Services Operations Manager holds 24-hour accountability for the operational flow, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned services within the Respiratory Services Department.  This individual communicates and facilitates the Director’s goals regarding program development, quality, financial, and human resource development. The Operations Manager serves as a professional role model, leader, mentor, technical and clinical resource for reporting staff and other members of the health team. This individual supports the mission, values, and strategic plan of the Medical Center.

 

Major Position Responsibilities:

 

The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner.   • Operational management of the Respiratory Services department 
  • Recruitment and retention of respiratory care staff
  • Supervision of licensed and unlicensed respiratory care staff
  • Assist Director in budgetary operations of the department

Safety and Infection Control Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including unit based specific safety and infection control requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years progressive leadership or supervisory/management experience required.
  • Must have effective communication and organizational skills along with computer proficiency using, word processing and database programs

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree required or obtained within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.

Licenses:

  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner Licensure, required. 

Certification:

  • Current BLS certification, required upon hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), required.

 

Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work. 

 

*Salary/Hourly wage range for this position is posted.  Actual pay will be determined based on verified experience as well as internal equity.
