Provides contract review, negotiation, drafting, and management services for Legal Affairs with respect to a wide range of contracts. Responsibilities include managing the contracting process, maintaining established policies and procedures, and managing the daily work flow. Meets established standards. Advises administration, managers, directors regarding contract terms and conditions, negotiates contracts with third parties, and liaises with other department managers and directors regarding District contracting policies and procedures. Provides contract review and negotiation services, and ensures contracts are entered into and executed in accordance with all District policies.
Major Position Responsibilities:
Monitors compliance to District contracting policies and procedures related to Legal affairs.
Manages process improvement for legal contracts. Continuously measures performance and improves productivity and processes for contract management.
Drafts and reviews contracts and provides guidance on contract standards.
Identifies, analyzes, researches and resolves legal and business process issues and makes appropriate recommendations.
Participates in contract negotiations.
Identifies risk, determines the level of risk and routes appropriately to General Counsel.
Recommends, develops and implements contracting policies, procedures and processes, and redeveloping contract template that is insufficient.
Monitors compliance with internal business and legal processes and policies.
Prepares presentations for the attorneys and presents to senior leaders, as applicable.
Prepares contract summaries and/or issues lists to present to attorney, for review if applicable.
Consults with General Counsel regarding legal provisions within the contracts and compliance.
Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of business units, products, strategy operational model(s).
Manages, develops and provides on-going training and development of managers, directors, and executives with respect to contract policies and procedures. Identifies training requirements, and supports team building activities.
Coordinates with other departments to ensure contracts are reviewed, negotiated, executed and scanned into District’s contract management system. Maintains computer contract database.
Maintains thorough knowledge of the District’s contract management system information management application and strives for continuous improvement of utilization.
Prepares contract summaries and lists for Legal Affairs and Compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned/required.

Minimum of 5 years in a contract management position in a legal department in the healthcare field, required.
Experience with physician contracts, required
Experience leading department members to provide quality customer service, required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, required.
Good organizational skills with the ability to multi task and change priorities based on customer needs.
Excellent skills to effectively negotiate draft and manage contracts required.
Excellent communication skills via telephone, phone and correspondence required.
Strong computer and software skills (MS Office, Database, timekeeping, email) required.
Bachelor’s degree in contracts management, required
Advanced degree from an accredited university in Business or related field (e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA),, not required but a strength .
