They should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position. The characteristics of the position and standards of performance may be changed by TCMC with or without prior notice based on the needs of the organization. - Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements. - Clean and maintain assigned areas according to TCMC standards. - Maintain a safe environment at all time.  This includes the proper use of wet floor signs. - Use appropriate protective equipment while performing duties.  This includes proper hand washing and hand sanitizing at all times.  - Understand the role and responsibility of the position in the event of a disaster. - Clean discharge/occupied rooms according to the departmental training checklist. - Maintain professional and courteous customer service at all times. - Maintain current status with all hospital requirements (Annual TB Skin Test,  Fit Testing, Net Learning, other requirements). In order to achieve our mission, we see, hear and listen to our front line healthcare workers, employees, medical staff and all community stakeholders in order to understand and meet our community’s needs.   Position Summary: The Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a professional caregiver who performs patient assessment, and develops, implements, and evaluates effectiveness of an exercise prescription for patients.  The EP provides education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding risk factor modification, lifestyle changes, nutrition guidelines, stress management, medication understanding and compliance, and exercise guidelines.  The EP may assist in the supervision of student interns and volunteers, as needed by the department.  The EP works with other staff members to deliver safe, goal-oriented exercise sessions, teaches strength training classes, leads chair yoga and meditation classes, and other clinical activities of the program.  The EP provides services in a manner consistent with TCMC’s mission and values, and demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patients’/caregivers’ rights, as identified within the institution.   Major Position Responsibilities: The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner. Contact nursing units or physician’s offices to verify confusing incomplete or confusing orders or sample problems. - Under the direct observation of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist, set up and load tests on instruments or procedures as determined by the section lead. - Under the direct observation of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist, perform limited function checks and preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment. - Take inventory of reagents and supplies and restock when needed; put away supplies as they are received. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - One year relevant work experience in a laboratory, preferred. - Minimum 6 months Phlebotomy experience, preferred. - Knowledge and ability to use medical terminology, preferred. - Excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Education:  - Meets education requirements for California CPT Certification. - Associates degree (2 years college) in life science courses or equivalent, preferred.
